Sarson’s Chilli Vinegar Recipe
A favourite of London pie shops, chilli vinegar is the perfect way to add delicious tang and warming heat to any dish. For this easy chilli vinegar recipe, all you have to do is infuse chilli in Sarson's Malt Vinegar - it really is as easy as that! The malty, craft-brewed tang of Sarson's works wonderfully well with the fruity flavour of the peppers. We've kept the peppers whole in this recipe, but if you chop them up before adding them to the vinegar, things will get a lot spicier, a lot faster. We have found that keeping the chillies whole allows for a nice hum of spice, that is more manageable. Give it a try!
Ingredients
- 500ml Sarson’s Malt Vinegar
- Enough fresh chillies to ¾ fill a jar
Method
- Add the chillies to a jar and fill with the Sarson’s Malt Vinegar. The longer you leave the vinegar to mature, the more the flavour and spice will develop.
- We recommend serving chilli vinegar with pie, mash, and liquor - the classic London way.
